The Greatest Re-Gift of All Time
Part 4 of "How to NOT Ruin Christmas" - Christmas Eve
The very FIRST Christmas Present was a re-gift!
At the very beginning of humankind, people were given a gift: the presence of God!
God gave us the greatest re-gift of ALL time!
If we want to ruin our Christmas, be sure to ignore the greatest Regift of all time.
We have HOPE because God is with us in Jesus!
19Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20 (NASB)
Because God is with us in Jesus, we can have PEACE!
He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariots with fire. – Psalm 46:9 (NASB)
27 Peace I leave you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor fearful. – John 14:27 (NASB)
Because God is with us in Jesus, we can have joy!
38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8:38-39 (NASB)
“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many rooms; if that were not so, I would have told you, because I am going there to prepare a place for you. – John 14:1-2 (NASB)
At His birth, there was no room for the Christ Child, but Jesus has made sure there will always be a place ready for us.
Because God is with us in Jesus, we can have love.
The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love. – I John 4:8 (NASB)
This regift came with an abundance of other regifts.
The true beauty of this gift is that we are meant to regift it.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of mankind. 5 And the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not grasp it. – John 1:1-5 (NASB)
Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; the one who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” - John 8:12 (NASB)
Sharing the light of Christ is an expression of our faith and our response to the love of God.
