Shining Stars Mother’s Day Out is a ministry of Morningstar Methodist Church. We are a family-oriented program that provides a loving, Christian environment whose goals include helping children:
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe the best learning happens when a child is having fun! We aim to offer the best academic, social, and spiritual growth for our students through exciting and engaging hands-on learning. Our teachers use various curriculum including Handwriting Without Tears, and include music, art, science, and STEM activities to ensure each student has a solid, well-rounded start to their educational career.

- Develop self-esteem and self-identity
- Grow a love for learning through positive and encouraging educational experiences
- Develop independence
- Learn how to appropriately express feelings
- Learn how to work and play with other children
- Develop language skills, learning skills, and the ability to follow directions
- Develop fine motor skills, gross motor skills, and physical strength
- Develop a relationship with Jesus

PROGRAM INFORMATION
- Our program is for children ages 1 year thru PreK4
- Our 2023-2024 school year is from September 6th- May 16th
- We meeting Monday-Thursday from 8:30-12:30
- We follow the Shelby County School District for all breaks and holidays
- Our PreK 4 and PreK3 meet Monday thru Thursday, while our 1-year-old class and 2-year-old class offers a two-day or four-day option.
- Children must be fully potty trained before entering the PreK 3 and PreK 4 classroom
