The Meaning of the New Morningstar Methodist Logo
Jesus and the Good News of His work on the cross for us is at the center of everything we are and do as we serve as the hands and feet of Jesus. With Jesus at the center of everything we are and do, we remember that He is indeed the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that no one will be able to be connected to God the Father without knowing Jesus as Savior and Lord.
The center beam of the cross has three strands which represent the Sacred Holy Trinity (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit).
The left side of the cross beam represents our three purpose points to make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly.
The right side of the cross beam represents our call to “Be the Church” locally, regionally, and internationally.
The two marks on either side of the cross represent a sunrise as we celebrate a “New Day” with this “New Beginning” as a Community of Faith. We end our Worship Experiences with a simple chorus taken from the 113th Psalm – “From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, the name of the Lord shall be praised.”
The top of the sphere placed above the name of “Morningstar” represents our Wesleyan Heritage as we remember that “the world is our parish.” It also represents our connection with the newly formed Global Methodist Church movement.
